With the NFL season finally here, football fans everywhere are getting hyped—and I’m definitely one of them. My favorite team? That’s an easy one. The Denver Broncos. I’ve been a fan for as long as I can remember. It’s not just a team I root for—it’s part of my family’s tradition.

Growing up, Sundays were always for football. My whole family would gather around the TV, decked out in orange and blue, and cheer on the Broncos together. Whether they were winning or losing, we were always loud, passionate, and all in. Some of my best childhood memories come from those days—watching big plays, arguing over bad calls, and celebrating every touchdown like it was the Super Bowl.

This year, I really believe the Broncos are going to surprise people. They’ve been working hard in the offseason, and you can already tell there’s more focus and energy on the field. The defense is looking strong—as usual—and if the offense can find its rhythm early, I think we have a real shot at making the playoffs. Maybe even more.

My dad, Josh Wanrow, has been a Broncos fan his whole life too. It’s something we bond over. “They’ve got talent on both sides of the ball,” he told me. “If they stay healthy, they’ll be solid. I think this could be a really good year.”

One of the best memories we have together was when we went to a Broncos vs. Bears game in person. It was my first NFL game, and it blew me away. The energy in the stadium was electric. The crowd was loud, the weather was perfect, and every moment felt exciting. I’ll never forget the sound after the Broncos scored—it was so loud it shook the seats. Getting to experience that with my dad made it even more special.

If I ever got the chance to play in the NFL, there’s no question I’d want to play for the Broncos. They’re my team, and it would be awesome to wear that jersey and represent my hometown. My dad said the same thing—he’d love to take the field for Denver if he had the chance.

This year, I didn’t get to watch the full NFL Draft, but I kept up with the highlights and the Broncos’ picks. It’s always exciting to see what young talent teams bring in. Sometimes one good rookie can totally change a team’s season.

The player I’m most excited to watch this year is Patrick Surtain II. He was a lockdown corner last season, shutting down some of the league’s best receivers. He’s smart, fast, and always seems to be in the right place. I think this year he’s going to step up even more and become one of the top defensive players in the league.

Of course, not everyone is on the Broncos hype train. My friend Dillon Bettis said,

“I’m excited to watch my favorite team, the Packers, this season.”

No matter which team you’re cheering for, it’s great to have football back. Whether you’re watching from the stadium or the couch, there’s nothing like the start of a new NFL season. For me and my family, it’s more than just a game, it's part of who we are.
