Growing up, everyone had different ideas about what a superhero was. For some kids, it was Batman or Spider-Man, and for others, it was first responders. But a small portion of us believe that superheroes are our parents. The people who gave us life raised us to be who we are today. When we are younger I don't think many of us realize that our parents are the true superheroes and unfortunately many will never realize. But as life goes on and I come to live my life day by day I realize how much I have to thank my parents for. Not just materialistic things like the house I live in or the food they put on the table but thank them for who I am and the work ethic I have today.
My superhero will forever be my parents, I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. They have been my guide for as long as I can remember. My parents gave me my life, and with that life, they gave me goals and provided me with everything they could to reach any goals I wanted. My dad always told me since I was little that you can do anything as long as you put your mind to it. That has been my mindset since I started school and that's why i reach for the stars in mostly everything i do. Without my dad, I wouldn't be in the school that I am and have the opportunities I've been given to make a difference in high school. You always give back to those when given the chance. You never know what someone else is going through behind the scenes. And you never wish ill on anybody no matter the circumstance. Just a few things my dad has always told me growing up.
