Changing with the seasons

As the weather starts to get colder it's common for people to start to feel differently. When the seasons change we as people change alongside them. With the hot temperatures in the summer, we have been used to feeling light and carefree since we as teenagers got to experience so much more freedom in the summer compared to the cooler seasons.

With fall comes the start of the school year, getting back into good habits, and remembering how to manage our social lives, work, school, and sports, all at the same time. It can be stressful getting back into the loop of things. Then, once it comes closer to the winter time it can begin to feel like a fight to survive. We as students are trying to keep our grades up before the end of the semester, making sure to study for finals, making sure we work enough to be able to get presents from our loved ones, and much more.

Although we as students get Thanksgiving and Christmas break, winter is typically an exhausting time and it's difficult to manage everything. It's almost as if we put in all the hard work to get to Christmas break but as soon as we get back it is the same cycle all over again yet it only gets longer as we work hard to get to the end of the school year.

On the other side of things, after the cold months start to fade and we get into the spring it is like spirits have been lifted. We have figured out a good routine to manage our responsibilities since school has been going on for many months. It begins to be like a light at the end of the tunnel.

Then comes May and comes the end of the school year and the start of summer. All feels well in the world and we are excited to get the break we have worked so hard for. Until the cycle repeats. Many people don’t realize the constant work we as high school students put in to make it through the year. But no matter how hard it can get it always gets better and the hard work is worth it.

We change with the seasons and we learn to grow with them, but it is always important to look for the positives in all situations and to remember how hard work always pays off and never goes unseen.
