The U.S government is currently going through a situation that, in my opinion, is flying way below the radar then it should be. People of this country will be affected by the shutdown no matter who they are. This is why that the government needs to figure something out.
A shutdown only occurs when congress can not find a legislation to be signed into law by the president. In this case a shutdown will happen if lawmakers can not pass federal budget or stoppage measure by Sunday, September 30th, 2023. The people that will face the most impact will be federal workers. Federal workers are people like police officers, nurses, and secretary office. Some may just lose their job and be laid off. But, federal workers are not the only ones that are going to be affected. Everybody in the country will have some sort of side affect of the shutdown.
This is a major problem, obviously, and let me tell you why. People that live paycheck to paycheck are going to be heavily affected. Without receiving their hard earned paychecks, they will have a very hard time to make income and pay those paychecks. President Biden says him and his team do not want this to happen. For the shutdown not to happen, the house and senate have to agree to fund the government in any way, but sources say they are nowhere close to reaching that deal to avert the shutdown.
When asked to a class if they had any sort of idea due to the government of all, there were no people that had raised their hand at all. Which helps prove my point of there are no people that even know that this is a serious problem. We were in the same postion in May of 2023. This is not the first time the government has disagreed and put their citizens normal way of life in jeopardy.
